Monoi rings are based on the very first inspiration, the original point of departure – looking for an answer of how simple and light jewelry form can be.
Monoi is founded in 2018 by two architects and it’s geometric aesthetic is inspired by minimalist architecture and design. Made of Sterling silver and gold.
All jewelry is manufactured in family-owned workshop in Serbia, using traditional, sustainable methods to achieve contemporary design. Production process starts with used silver or gold re-purposing and refining. Closely following the material from this initial stage contributes to the quality of the final jewelry piece.
Unconventional production process of silver sheets is another key attribute of Monoi jewelry. Developed by in-house team, it specifically matches the required material structure necessary for the Monoi design language.
“We believe that good design should last more than a season and it shouldn’t be guided by trends. The challenge of how to transform the simplest geometricshape, such as a square or circle, into statement jewelry, resulted in the recognizable style of MONOI jewelry collection. Focusing on minimal aesthetics but without sacrificing the comfort, we developed jewelry wearable in any occasion.”
An uncommon link of simplicity and the precious metal will best describe what MONOI is all about. Understanding that every piece of jewelry needs a person with all the flaws, virtues and opinions is what drives the modest use of elements in our jewelry. A few strokes of pen are just enough to complement and enrich.
Our design is inspired by geometry and architecture, creating a strong, edgy yet minimal aesthetic. Our guiding principle is "simple is beautiful".
Whole process from refining silver to final polish is done in our workshop using traditional methods.
Each peace of jewelry is designed and handcrafted in our workshop in Serbia.
We are using finest, mostly reclaimed 925 Silver in our production.
Full control of the manufacturing process is essential for high quality product.
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time. Moisture, lotion, perfume and perspiration can also lead to tarnishing and buildup on jewelry. To avoid this jewelry should be washed with a soft bristled tooth brush and a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water every once in a while. Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, using strong chemicals, applying lotions, makeup, or any other activities where the jewelry may be at risk of being damaged. Keep your piece in covered jewelry box to keep oxygen at bay.
Gold plating will eventually tarnish with time and wear. Avoid wearing gold plated jewelry with other pieces as scratches will cause the gold plating layer to wear away faster.
Your jewelry will last a lifetime with the right care and cleaning.
